Could Jiu Jitsu be the answer to our aging questions? Could Jiu Jitsu be the mental decompression we need at the end of everyday? These are all interesting questions that I would like to dive into.
Our lives are full of stress, pressure and fast food. We have deadlines to meet, kids have soccer and the wife wants to upgrade the house. What does this do to us? It potentially takes years off our lives. Stress is an evil by product of life.. not always a good one at that. But the bigger question is how do I handle it?
Let me explain how jiu jitsu could be the fountain of youth. Imagine if you will a program that not only helps your body physically, but also helps you mentally. What if I told you that during this training nothing else in life appears. What if I told you, you will be able to train for 30 minutes and not even realize time has went by.
This is not like running on a tread mill or even in downtown Louisville. It is its own thing! Taking your body and mind away from the stress that leads us all down that horrible path of gaining weight and mental break down. Being in my early 50’s with people mistaking me for my early 40’s is a good feeling. It did not come from eating vegitarian or even vegan. It came from many years on the mats training in Jiu Jitsu.
I would highly suggest looking up older jiu jitsu Grandmasters and Masters. Look at there bodys and listen to there minds. Quality of life is what everyone wants when they are older. Jiu Jitsu has just that ability.
